Summer ’09 Services at CMHS!
Counseling and Mental Health Services (CMHS) offers ongoing group therapy and medication services throughout the Summer. We also offer same day walk-in services for crisis and emergency situations.
Therapy Services
Students who are interested in ongoing therapy services will be referred for group therapy which students can participate in throughout the Summer. Please Click Here for more information about group, how it works, why it is so effective for so many people, why it is not nearly as scary as you might initially think it is, and how to get involved and benefit from it.
We also offer same day walk-in services for crisis and emergency situations. We do not have ongoing individual therapy appointments in the Summer. If you are in crisis or have an emergency, please just walk in during our usual hours of M-F 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and our daily on-call therapist will gladly meet with you to discuss the nature of your concerns, provide helpful interventions, and discuss options and recommendations for you to pursue through the Summer.
Medication Services
Medication appointments are available in the Summer to students who are already receiving medication services at CMHS or who are attending group in the Summer. Students who are interested in starting medication in the Summer and who are not currently clients at CMHS can meet with a therapist for an initial assessment to decide best treatment options for the Summer.
Eligibility
All continuing students are eligible for services in the Summer as described above. When a student graduates, however, the student is no longer eligible for CMHS services. We will work with students to make appropriate referrals when needed.
